Hiroshima mon amour – European Arthouse Cinema Day

At the occasion of the European Arthouse Cinema Day, the French Embassy and the Alliance Française are very delighted to be screening the drama ‘Hiroshima mon amour’ by Alain Resnais with the famous actors Emmanuelle Riva and Oskoda Eiji.  

Abstract : French actress is shooting a pacifist film in Japan; she has a brief affair with a Japanese architect, they talk, in a hotel room, in a bar, in the night. She talks about herself, a little girl from Nevers who once, in occupied France, loved a German soldier… She talks about herself, painful, radiant, terrified, appeased. 

It will be screen on the 12th of November at 17:30 at Spazju Kreattiv in Valletta.  

Spazju Kreattiv cinema is part of the 8th European Arthouse Cinema Day  in collaboration with the CICAE and in association with the Europa Cinemas network and co-funded by Creative Europe’s MEDIA programme. 

Since 2016 more than 700 cinemas in over 40 countries have participated in the event, offering magnificent programming including previews, films for young audiences, and classics from the history of European cinema. Films are free but subject to booking
