The Alliance Française

Fondation des Alliances Françaises

The Fondation des Alliances Françaises aims at promoting French language and francophone culture around the world. Created in 1880 in Paris by important French figures like Jules Verne and Louis Pasteur, it is now a network of over 800 Alliances Françaises in more than 130 countries.

L’Alliance Française de Malte Méditerranée

The Alliance Française de Malte-Méditerranée has been promoting French culture and language in Malta for more than 60 years. More than 400 students per year are formed in our center with high pedagogical standards.
The Alliance Française de Malte-Méditerranée finds its roots in 1946, when the Circle “Amis de la Culture Française” was formed at the University of Malta. Eventually, the Circle became the Alliance Française in 1959.
As a linguistic center, the Alliance Française de Malte-Méditerranée is the only accredited center in Malta for the DELF and DALF examinations, the TEF and other certificates from the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Paris and La Sorbonne Nouvelle. The Alliance Française de Malte-Méditerranée is also a cultural center with events throughout the year, like the French Film Days, the Beaujolais Nouveau wine tasting event, the Bir-Miftuh festival and many more.
The Alliance Française de Malte-Méditerranée also offers various training opportunities for teachers of French in Malta and Gozo.
