The French Alliance is very pleased to organize for the first time the Inter-Alliance Challenge competition by partnering with the network of Italian French Alliances !
We invite you to participate in the Inter-Alliance CHALLENGE 2024, a fun competition on French culture between students from French Alliances worldwide! To challenge yourselves, have fun, and… win! Language stays in France and French courses are up for grabs.
The challenge is open to all students of the Alliance Française of Malta-Mediterranean aged 18 and above, enrolled in group courses, either in person or online, starting from level A2. Last year’s edition saw the participation of more than 225 Alliances from 42 countries. This is the first year the AF Malta-Mediterranean participates in this initiative !
What is the Inter-Alliance challenge about? The competition, which will take place entirely online, consists of a quiz on French culture (geography, art, music, cinema, etc.) and unfolds in 4 stages : local, Italy-Malta regional, by geographical zone, and international.
The Alliance Française of Malta-Mediterranean will select, through a 20-question quiz, the two best students who will win prizes and have the honor of representing our Alliance in the Italy-Malta regional final.
📅 Italy-Malta Regional Final | Friday, May 10, 2024, 7:00 PM
The winners selected from the French Alliances of Italy and Malta will compete through a 25-question quiz. Participating in the 2024 edition are the Alliances of Biella, Bologna, Cagliari, Cuneo, Genoa, Malta, Turin, Venice, and Verona.
🏆 The Prizes – The first prize will be a 10h conversation pack and delf exam preparation and the second prize will be a goodie bag organized by the Alliance Française of Malta.
📅 Zone Geographical Final | Saturday, June 1, 2024, time to be determined The two national/regional winners (in our case from the Italy-Malta region) will compete in a final by geographical zone, through a 25-question quiz.
🏆 The Prizes – The participant ranked first in each geographical zone will participate in the international final in person in Paris – transportation and accommodation covered by the organizers. The stay includes: Accommodation Transportation from the nearest airport to the winner’s residence to Paris and from Paris to the departure airport. Tickets for intercity transportation (bus, metro, RER, etc.) are not included. An allowance of €400.
📅 International Final | Tuesday, October 1, 2024, time to be determined The winners of the finals from each geographical zone finally compete in the grand world final, which includes a 30-question quiz and will be held in person at the Alliance Française Theater in Paris. This major global event will be hosted by Ivan Kabacoff and broadcasted on the Facebook page of the Fondation des Alliances Françaises and TV5Monde.
The participant in the international final who accumulates the highest number of points will be declared the winner of the competition and will face, after the final, the winner of the High School challenge (present at the final).
📍 The Prizes – What will be the prize for the person winning the world final? A bit of suspense… Details of the prizes offered by the international partners of the Inter-Alliance challenge will be announced in the coming weeks.
